Riverdale City Council Meeting
August 11, 2008
6:00 p.m.
Meeting called to order at
Roll call: Mayor Tim Lingelbach, Council members: Dee Hinsz,
Clark Wurtele, Don Robison,
Attorney Scott Solem, and City Auditor Bev Leingang present.
Absent: Councilmember Ken Skuza absent.
Wurtele moved to approve the
Wurtele moved to approve the financial statement.
Hinsz second. Motion carried.
Hinsz moved to approve the agenda as amended.
Wurtele second. Motion carried.
Keith Greig met with council regarding his utilities. Council checking into it.
Wurtele moved to approve Affordable Carpet Cleaning to
clean city hall and meeting room in the amount
of $400.00. Robison second.
Motion carried.
Mr Jim Bach of Western Area Power Association met with
council regarding electrical rate increase
of 22% in January 2009.
Hinsz moved to change the council
meetings to the second Monday of each month.
Robison second.
Motion carried.
Robison moved to approve the sale of lots 5 & 6 Block 4
John Adam’s Addition in the amount of
$14,520.00 to Laurel Brandt and Vic Adams.
Wurtele second. Motion carried.
A meeting is set for August 25 at
landowners in the addition to attend meeting.
Assistant fire chief Ken Kirkwood met with city council to
discuss updating the air packs for the fire
dept. cost to replace $1020.00 each. Two will be purchased each year and would
need
10 plus extra cyclinders.
Hinsz moved to purchase 2 rebuilt cyclinders and attempt to
recertify all tanks.
Robison second. Motion
carried.
Darlene Ghering building inspector met with the city
council regarding a deadline for hail
damage permits. Allowing 2 years from the date of hail storm.
Hinsz moved to authorize Planning and Zoning to waive
building permit fee due to hail damage
2 years from the date of hail storm. Wurtele second. Motion carried.
Hinsz moved to approve Russ Kinzler’s resignation from the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
Wurtele second. Motion carried.
Wurtele moved to approve the bills. Robison second. Motion carried.
Next meeting date Sept 8 at
Discussion on golf carts on city streets.
Wurtele moved to change the 45 mph signs to 35 mph. Hinsz second. Motion carried.
Start working on the Budget.
Discuss setting electrical rates in Oct/ Nov. Effective
